An Amazon Delivery Driver Praised For Helping An Elderly Lady And Granddaughter From Burning House

An Amazon delivery driver has been praised online for helping an elderly lady and her granddaughter evacuate a bu*ni*g house in New Jersey. On May 20, 30-year-old Wakie Medina was carr*ing out his deliveries in Woodbridge, New Jersey, when he noticed sm*ke coming out of one of the homes.

“At first, I thought someone was having a cookout; but when I got closer I realized, no, this is too much sm*ke. I have to see what is going on,” Medina said, per Patch.

Alarmed by what he saw, Medina left his tru*k and headed towards the house. It was there that he saw that the roof of the back p*rch was ablaze. Medina also recalled seeing a young teen attempting to put out the f** using a watering can.

The teen told the delivery driver that his grandmother and little sister were still inside and were totally unaw-are of the situation.

“The house was filled with sm*ke. I just ran up the stairs and s**uted at them ‘Yo, the house is on fi!e! Come down!'” Medina recalled.

Fortunately, a neighbor by the name of Ashley Latham eventually noticed that the house was on fi!e and called emergency services. Meanwhile, Medina helped the elderly lady and her granddaughter evacuate. Luckily, neither of them required any medical attention.

Latham said: “It wasn’t a big f***, but I just thought it was such a brave thing to do. “Anyone else could have just gotten back in the truck and waited because we knew f*** trucks were on the way. I really think he would have done the same thing if it had been a bigger f***.”

Latham, who just so happens to also be an employee of Amazon, later shared Medina’s he*oi! actions with management at the tech company.

“I did what I had to do and got out of the way and went back to my truck. I was in the right place at the right time,” Medina added.

Last month, as a reward for his bravery, he was honored as the driver of the month and was gifted a thank you card signed by Amazon leadership, a 40-inch TV, and a backpack full of gifts.

“It is cool, but I wasn’t expecting any of this,” he said. “I just did that out of the kindn-ess of my heart, I guess.”

Needl-ess to say, plenty of people have since taken to social media to praise Medina for his bravery.
