A father from Akron, Ohio, was the epitome of father’s love by cutting off his impressive and attractive locs to support his 7-year-old son as he fought bone ca*c!r. Rayshawn Mims father of Ahkeem is battling bone ca*c!r. Rayshawn Mims started a live stream on Facebook with his son Ahkeem. In the live, Rayshawnas was cutting off his chest-length hair.
“Anything you go through, I’ll go through it with you,” Mims told his son in the video. According to the family’s GoFundMe information given, Ahkeem’s parents, Rayshawn and Shannae Mims took Ahkeem to the emergency room for what they thought was a knee sprain. But then the family received sh**king news when the doctors sent him to the Pittsburgh Children’s hospital for a “concerning” x-ray with said it was bone ca*c!r.
Ahkeem was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and the 7-year-old boy quickly started losing his hair after his chemotherapy treatments began. “I took an extended leave of absence. Due to his immune system being compromised from chemotherapy I am unable to work as I run the r**k of possibly infecting him with Covid,” Shannae Mims wrote on the site for the campaign for her son, which has received $24,613 so far but, much more than they initially requested for $5,000.
The couple has four other children but she has to send them with other family members during her and Ahkeem’s trips to the hospitals for his treatments. “Bringing tears to my eyes!! You are an awesome father !! Praying for the little man to be healed completely and praying for your family,” one Facebook user commented under the video, and there are many more who supported them during their hard times. The family shared their gratitude with the tears over the outpouring of support on a Wednesday.
“Woooow! God is Good!! We would like to take this time to thank EVERYONE for your EXTREME Generosity, Love, Support, Prayers, Advice, and Most of all you who shared your touching testimonies with us!!!!” Rayshawn wrote on Facebook. “I have honestly Read thousands of comments and messages in these last few days and been brought to tears many times over. You are all Amazing and have shined a beautiful light on a dark situation and for that we say Thank You!!!”
