YouTube star Gabi DeMartino has apologized after she posted a home video of herself from when she was a child on her OnlyF*ns account, which subsequently led to it being shut down.
DeMartino came under f!re after she charged $3 for fans to watch the childhood home video, and captioned it: “Won’t put my pa-nties on.”
The YouTuber has some three million subscribers on her channel, which she has amassed largely due to her vlogs and lifestyle videos.
It was a follower on Twitter who prompted the apology, after commenting: “Um at gabcake you better make a statement ASAP about this only f*ns s***…you better not be trolling with kid pics and thinking that’s OKAY.”
DeMartino replied, saying: “A childhood video of me on the phone saying ‘Nani says put your pa-nties back on’ and jumping up and down laughing [sic].”
She added: “I’m sorry I didn’t think that one through. period. a home-video I love to share w my friends & I use my OF as a ‘finsta’ [unreal Instagram] page where I share stuff as I would friends [sic].”
The YouTuber went on to say: “The video was a go-ofy throwback family moment that I wanted to share with my personal OnlyF*ns fancy babies. “I am sorry that this wasn’t thought out completely, I apologize. The video is down now. I am sorry again if this came out wrong.”
Officially OnlyF*ns is a content subscription service, with fans paying to see content from its users. However, it’s gained a reputation for its ad-ult content over time, with stars like Bella Thorne, Tana Mongeau, and Erika Costell operating accounts on the service and charging for content.
What DeMartino posted was deemed beyond the conditions of OnlyF*ns, however. A spokesperson for the service provider told LADbible: “I can confirm that the account in question was deactivated in v!olation of OnlyF*ns’ Terms of Service.”
Fans were spl!t on her apology on Twitter, with some seeming unconvinced. “I’m sorry but she knew exactly what she was doing. How on earth can you defe-nd posting a video of a CHILD with this as the caption?” wrote one user.
Another added: “This is literally child po*nography… I don’t get why this is so hard for people to gr-asp and why people are defe-nding it?”
However, others defe-nded her statement, with one account holder commenting: “I can see why people would be upset about this but I’m sure that wasn’t your intentions at all wtf… you’re page is too show things u wouldn’t be able to show anywhere else its ok love [sic]!”
Another said: “I really don’t think she meant it how y’all are thinking. I think she just wanted to show y’all that she’s always been a goofball since she was young. the fact that she didn’t even see it as se*ual herself says a lot. y’all blow everything out of proportion. I hope you’re OK Gabi [sic].”
