Jay-Z has never been one to reveal too much about his personal life, especially his high profile relationship with Beyoncé.
Due to the nature of their relationship, the couple has spent many years in the spotlight, and they are constantly surrounded by spec*lation from the outside world about the details of their marriage.
Typically, the two don’t let too much of the noise get to them, but some of the rumors out there are seriously di*turbing, even for them.
One of those rumors, in particular, was a story that circulated so-calling Beyoncé was never truly pregnant with Blue Ivy, and that she had not actually been the one that gave birth to her.
Despite how ri*iculous the rumor may sound, it began to pick up steam and received significant attention throughout the course of her pregnancy, and shortly after. Her husband, Jay-Z cleared the air on the rumor not long afterward, admitting that it was upsetting to hear.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z have a long and storied relationship that began in the early 2000s. After several years of dating, they were married without the public’s knowledge in 2008. Together they formed one of the world’s most famous and wealthy power couples, and currently have a combined net worth of over $1 billion.
In 2011 at the MTV Video Music Awards, Beyoncé revealed to the world that she was pregnant. In the midst of her performance of her hit record, “Love On Top,” she revealed a baby bump that was unquestionably real.
However, despite this presentation of visual evidence, the remainder of Beyoncé’s pregnancy was pla*ued by consp!racy theories cla!ming that she had fa*ed her pregnancy with a pro*thetic belly or found a su*rogate mother to carry her child, according to Billboard. Apparently, these cla!ms deeply upset her mother.
“I thought it was very unfair and very cr*el that someone would think that someone would be that dia*olical to keep up a cha*ade like that for nine months.” Tina Knowles said. “As a mother, it was pa!nful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ri*iculous.”
Regardless of the rumors, Beyoncé went on to give birth to Blue Ivy Carter Jan. 7, 2012. Blue Ivy has lived her life in the spotlight since birth, and won an NAACP Image Award in 2020 for her songwriting contribution on Beyoncé’s record “Brown Skin Girl.”
Jay-Z usually doesn’t speak on his relationship with Beyoncé or rumors that swirl in the press, but during an interview with the Breakfast Club in 2013, he revealed his thoughts on the situation, admitting that it was upsetting to hear the rumor. “That’s probably the most ri*iculous thing I’ve ever heard,” he said.
“That’s me*ed up because […] it’s supposed to be a joyous time for you […] whether you say you care about it or not, it’s annoying, and you shouldn’t have to really deal with that as a human being, but that’s the position that we’re in.”Since then, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have gone on to have two more children, twins Rumi and Sir Carter.Thankfully, there were no false-pregnancy rumors the second time around.
